METER READING

Step 1: Locate your meter box, generally found towards the front of the property near the road. This box is typically in direct line with the main outside faucet.

Step 2: Once you open the meter box lid, lift the protective cap on the meter. On the face of the meter, there is a large dial and a display of the numbers. Read the number display from left to right. Be sure to include the stationary zero. This is your meter reading. These numbers will be written on your billing card in the squares provided. Readings MUST be in our office by the 20th of each month to avoid a meter reading charge.

Step 3: If your meter reading is considerably higher than normal, check for a leak or try to determine the large water source, i.e. watering a garden or plants, filling a swimming pool, etc. Also, refer to Detecting Water Leaks.
